Transport

Tunisia has a dense, modern road network, weaving through the country and connecting towns and villages.

The rail network connects the north to the south.

In the towns and suburbs, taxis with meters and buses are the most common form of transport.

  • In Tunis, the capital, the tramway network, the “Métro léger” is another public transport option.
  • To get to a nearby or faraway town, a shared taxi or “louage”, carrying five passengers and their luggage, is one of the most popular forms of transport among Tunisians.
